PNG U.S. Alumni Association Holds Annual General meeting

Port Moresby — The PNG U.S. Alumni Association committed itself to fostering improved people-to-people ties between the citizens of PNG and the U.S. at its annual general meeting June 26. U.S. Ambassador Teddy Taylor attended the event. According to the association, the U.S. has much to offer PNG and its members were called upon to help PNG achieve better governance, rule of law and democratization.

PNG U.S. Alumni Association executive committee members for 2010–2011 are as follows:

• Chairman Simon Kenehe,
• Deputy Chairman Reginald Renagi,
• Treasurer Simon Komati,
• Deputy Treasurer Solomon Kantha and
• Secretary (public officer) Eleina Butuna.

Other members include Paulius Korni, Vincent Malaibe and Caroline Ive (liason officer, U.S. Embassy).
